    Hi,

As we are being charged €10 a bottle corkage (yes we have tried everything to get it down but the hotel will not budge so we have accepted it) ..... anyway we are looking for a cheap but still tasty Prosecco or Cava for our drinks reception. M&S sometimes do a 25% off 6 bottle deal but it doesnt look like that is coming anytime soon and our wedding is in 6 weeks.
We have seen Sainsbury's Prosecco Frizzante for about €6.20 if we go north, has anyone ever tried this? a person on another forum also said Belnoir is very cheap and nice? or can anyone recommend a bottle for a similar price or cheaper? :D

Keep an eye in Dunnes, sometimes they have a sale on. My mum got a lot of prosecco for my hen party there although I don't know exactly what price it was. I've also heard great things about the tesco finset prosecco but I think it's about a tenner a bottle so that could make it too expensive.

The one in Dunnes is gorgeous, its just under €7 and it has a fab shape bottle and a label around the neck of the bottle. Its hard to come by. Where are you based?

What we did for our wedding was take a weekend and drive to France to buy our sparkling wine for drinks reception, and reds and whites for dinner for really really cheap (but really, really good). If you go to a chateau, you can buy in bulk and get even cheaper than buying from shops. Only cost us a couple hundred.

thanks for all the replies. france is not really an option for us. we are based in drumcondra so there are a few dunnes around in northside, town and swords. do you know the name of the bottle? is it dunees store select or something?

    Hi there,

the name of the prosecco mentioned above (available in Dunnes and other places for around 7 euro) is Sacchetto. I've bought it a few times and it is very nice indeed!

hey thanks for the info. we bought a bottle last night and yes it is very nice. it is a real contender now at that price. if anyone else is looking for an afforable prosecco I'd recommend trying this one.
