Hi i'm due to finish work on the 8th of july. As it stands i have no other job to go to.
    1. I have 2 weeks holiday pay due to me. Do i still go and sign on the day after i finish or do i wait for 2 weeks?
    2. I have worked for the last 16 years and never signed on. Will i be able to get jsb?
    3. I see a thread about waiting times for jsa and jsb. Does this wait also apply for just normal payments i.e. Could i be waiting 10 weeks for any type of payment?
    Thanks

By no means an expert but from my experience:

    1. You can sign on the day you finish employment, the 2 weeks due is money owed to you

    2. Yes, as long as you were not self employed for the last few years. you almost defintely will recieve JSB.

    3. This depends on where you apply for your benefits. I applied in wexford and had to wait 7 weeks.

If there is any hold up on your claim go to your community welfare officer and apply for supplementary welfare allowance. Any money paid on this scheme will be recouped when your jobseekers is approved.
