Black tights in summer?

Hi all

I have a wedding to go to and looking at some dresses. Some of the dress es I’m looking at would require me to wear black tights (as I hate my legs!). Are black tights in summer considered a faux pas?

I never think black tights look right myself, especially if it’s a warm summers day.

Actually I think it can look really good. Obviously it depends on the dress, heavy black tights would just look silly paired with a light silk dress. Would you consider wearing sheer black tights instead? It would suit more summery outfits without exposing your legs.

As long as its with black shoes it looks ok I think but shinikins idea is good too.

Considering the weather lately you might fit in perfectly in black tights!

Personally I don't think they would suit a summer wedding. They would look too dark and most people will be wearing bright summer colours.

OP, I completely get where you're coming from! I'm a total black tights addict myself! I've seen loads of celebs sporting them at all kinds of events and, with the right outfit, they can really enhance a look!

As other posters have said, it would depend on the dress. If you are willing to wear slightly sheer tights, you could even wear something with a subtle design (I'm talking more one single element - something classy - than a whole leg pattern).

They can look super stylish and make you stand out in a crowd:-)

Go for it with black shoes. For a summer wedding, I personally wouldn't wear black tights but depending on the dress it could look very stylish.
