    Looks pretty cool to me.

    Airbus unveils futuristic see-through plane

Ever wondered what flying could be like in 2050? If so, you may be keen to discover Airbus' new Concept Cabin... unless you're prone to vertigo.

Scared of heights? Then don't look down…

The plane manufacturer has released pictures of a futuristic jet ahead of the Paris Air Show. The images show a transparent cabin, allowing passengers to enjoy a much wider view while on a flight.

And if that wasn't unusual enough, the innovative design also aims to offer services with a difference on board, with personalised zones replacing traditional cabin designs.

Passengers will be able to play virtual golf in the aircraft's "interactive zone", or relax in the "vitalising zone" by breathing vitamin and antioxidant-enriched air.

Charles Champion, Airbus Executive Vice President Engineering, commented: "Our research shows that passengers of 2050 will expect a seamless travel experience while also caring for the environment.

"The Airbus Concept Cabin is designed with that in mind, and shows that the journey can be as much a voyage of discovery as the destination. Whichever flight experience is chosen, the passenger of 2050 will step out of the Airbus Concept Cabin feeling revitalised and enriched."

Do they state what fuel the engines will use?

Unless the aviation industry sort that out PDQ we won't be flying anywhere in 2050.

Edit: Sorry that sounded really negative.

It is a cool concept, if they use more and more plastics, I guess "Glass" cabins are going to become a lot more likely.

That looks nice, they should make the bottom of the AC out of glass/plastic too :) or is it in the pictures allready but i didn't see it? as it says if you are afraid of heights dont look down :) As for the fuels im sure they will figure something out, there's loads of time before 2050...

If the bottom was made out of plastic all you would see is the ULD,s and Landing gear:D,I take it the roof of the plane would have some sort UV protection for the pax.

Doesn't the basic shape remind you a bit of the Boeing Sonic Cruiser?

Obviously 2 companies using similar techniques, specification parameters and CAD software will probably hit on similar looking designs...........

Looks amazing, but would airlines actually want their passengers seeing that much?

It looks like the Airbus design team spent a lot of time watching V. It reminds me of the Mother ship from the new series for some reason!

Emirates have forward and down looking cameras on their 777's. Only any use at low altitude, but fun to watch. Surely it would be better to project the night sky onto the ceiling and "birds eye view" of what you should be able to see around you (i.e. minus the clouds!)
