Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone knows the speed limit coming out of ardee heading for castletown.

Story is i was coming out of the petrol station on that road and i wasnt paying attention to my speed. My GF caught the speed camera before i did and i checked my speedometer when i passed him, it was below 60 but im pretty sure above 50....

Will they nail you for this?

That depends on:
The speed limit.
The margin of error in your speedometer.
The margin of "slip" in the camera.
And probably three more things.

So it could be possible to get away from it.

I think the speed limit is 50 there

Do you mean on the Kells road? The non branded petrol station just passed the Garda station?

Its a Orange petrol station on the left hand side coming out of ardee, so maybe its the kells road alright.

Yeh the limit is 50 there, was it a Garda van or a marked GoSafe speed van?

Was a GARDA van with the picture on it.

If you were under 60 you should be fine I'd imagine.

Depends where you are, I hate that road :mad:

It is indeed the kells road. Theres a tractor place across the mental home after the station before the road works, its 50 kmh up to there. From then on, its 60kmh and around the corner for about 150m, then its 100kmh (or as some local tried to vandalise it to 188 kmh :rolleyes:) and at the meath border 2 kms down the road it reduces to 80 kmh ()

My dad ironically got caught out there years ago on that very same stretch of road before the points were introduced, he begrudgingly handed €80 to drogheda gardai for the fine.

And op, word of warning if you got petrol from the station i think you got it from, never get petrol out of that station again, it might be 6cents less than everywhere else but at a cost. I got petrol there before and it nearly destroyed my car, ruining the injectors and lambda sensor just fortunate it didnt do any internal damage...

same thing just happened me in ennis. just doing about 57/58kmph on a 50kmph and i just spotted them pointing the camera at me...and i was the only car on the road!!!

did they do u?
