Just on the phone to someone working in Croke park asking why i couldnt book seats in Cusack 308 lower with two adults and one under 16.

Different sections in the ground for kids then to adults....

No wonder its 5 euro for a child ffs if thats the case why do adults bringing children not get a discount on there tickets seeing as there not aloud pick where they can sit.

The woman on the phone actually cut me off and sent me to a different department when i asked this and of course there was no one at the phone so i had to hang up.

Its bollox to be honest ive never seen this mentioned before u book on any gaa site or ticket outlet they should at least tell you before you book that your not going to have a choice at better seats if you bring a child with you.

I wouldnt mind if it was an event where you want kids to be kept quite or in a certain area but its a football match :P

It must be just dont see the difference to be honest. Dont see why me self and me da had to pay full price each for our seats even though because where bringing a 12 year old we dont get the option of a better section.

there are a couple of dedicated family areas in CP and have been for years, one is on the Cusack and one in the Canal end. Try tickets.ie and ticketmaster, they actually have different allocations (tickets.ie are cheaper and have better seats mind)

adult tickets are the same no matter what part of the general seating you are in. €5 for the kids is only in the kids area.

Tickets.ie had more or less same section as Ticketmaster this morning for these matchs i only just checked tickets.ie there while ago cause they went on sale later then ticketmaster.

Fair enough they have family sections just be nice if they explained it and i dont see why i had to pay full price for my ticket when i wasnt given the option where i could sit just cause i am heading with a child.

I mean if you go to the o2 for example anyone can sit anywhere granted its same price for adults as children but least you have that option if you want to bring a child you dont have to sit in a different section of the arena were u probley wont get as good of a view.

I always get the 5 euro tickets (I look young) and it's pretty easily the best spot unless you're at the halfway line.

As has been said you won't get the discount unless you go to the 5euro kids section.

Why should people happy to pay full whack for decent seats be deprived of them and the GAA deprived of the revenue by selling them for a fiver?

There is no discrimination, people of any age may sit in any seat in the ground if they pay full price, just like the O2.

So your aloud bring a child into Croke park under an adult price ticket??

I assumed u had to have a childs ticket for anyone under 16 if im wrong then id rather pay the bit extra and everyone get a better view.

That was my point in the first place the whole paying a 5er means nothing to me if i cant sit in the best position on offer to me.

Designated areas for Family Tickets, i.e. Adult € 25 and Child €5 are normally 301 - 303, 310 - 312 in the Cusack and all of the Davin.

If you purchase full price tickets for anywhere else in the Cusack and use them for a child, a concesssion refund is normally available for U16s through the " D " Turnstiles.

For the Dublin / Offaly Hurling game, adult ticket were 20 notes, child refund was a tenner.

This means that you can bring the young lad to a better seat for less than an adult ticket, but more than the tickets in the designated family areas.

Thanks for the info mate will deffo look into this if me brother wants to head to any other games after this one as id rather pay bit extra and have more choice for meself and other adults going.

And by the way you should apply for a job on the phones in Croke park lol the yoke i got early on should of been able to tell me what u just did but decided to cut me off instead.
