Hair Horror Stories

    Hi All,

Has anyone gone into a hair dressers and looked for something that you really want and ya ya no bother the hairdresser agrees and says it will look lovely... YET you walk out of the hair dressers crying because they didnt even come close to it:mad:!!

A few years ago i have/had lovely long (well below my shoulders) brown hair.. Went into my usual hair dresser and asked to get blonde put underneath the brown so you'd see the blonde coming through the brown.. And when you'd tie it up it would look nice.. well thats what i taught..

She agreed and taught it would be lovely.. After going through along process of waiting and waitng an waiting(i hate waiting) the colour was finally done.. to make the blonde stand out that bit better she said id have to cut a small bit off the brown so the blonde could come through... I was extreamly reluctant as i love my hair long.. So she got her way and cut a small bit off..

I honestly think she just flipped she went into this trance and just kept cutting.. I was shouting at her to stop but she wudnt even anwer me or even listen to me...

I burst into tears and she finally stopped after what felt like a year of her cutting... I was left with a bob... Just below my ears... And after all that you stll couldnt see the blonde... I hated it.. I loved my long hair... Needless to say i ran out of the place and didnt pay her.. But she actually scared me because she just had this dazed look on her face and kept cutting nothing could stop her.. Her partner that she worked with and everything was shouting at her,, Nothing worked..

So i can honestly say its nearly 5 years ago since that happened and my hair still is not as near as what it was before "the hairdresser attach"..

Has anyone any horror stories - that make you very reluctant in going to the hairdresser...

Does anyone know where i can get ideas for hair colour.. as in highlights and hair styles iv googled it and nothing really comes up..

    Ta

That story is very confusing. Why didn't you just stand up and walk away when she was cutting too much off? You just sat there and let her carry on until your long hair was chopped to a bob??

AVOID Fame Hair on Georges Street - dreadful - went in for half a head of highlights - came out with even more pronounced roots, dreadful dreadful place.

Yeah that story is really weird- how could you not get away from her?

I head that about Fame- not used to be good at all! I've been in for an eyebrow thread and tint and I have to say the salon itself looks a bit 'temporary' and unfinished.

I also think the story is a bit strange, why did you not just get up??

I haven't been to a hairdressers since I was 13 because a hairdresser cut all my hair off and left me with a long bob after being told I just wanted a couple of inches off but I didn't know she was cutting it all off, she had it tied in a ponytail at the back and just literally cut it off with 1 cut.

She also had a photo of what I wanted so I was not expecting that at all.

However if I had been aware of what she was doing and shouted at her to stop and she hadn't then I would have got straight up and given her a swift kick to the f***y :)

I seriously hate going to the hairdresser, because they never listen to what I'm looking for! I have pretty curly hair and I don't think most hairdressers have a clue how to cut curly hair properly. T

he last time I went I said, leave the length but take some weight off the hair so that it curls nicely. Indicated where I'd like the shortest layers to fall. So naturally she ignored me; cut a few inches off the hair, left it thick and just cut layers around my ears. Took ages to grow out and because she seemed to be snipping away pretty innocuously I hadn't realised what a crap job she'd done until I got to styling it myself. It wasn't a hair 'nightmare', just a cut unsuitable for my hair, but I've left a hairdressers satisfied so seldom that I now put it off until my hair is just untenably awful...
