Any idea guesstimates what the pain is likely to be? Car is a 2005 Skoda Fabia
Car drives fine and fog light works so hopefully nothing huge?

The bumper will push out, so it'll just need a respray, go to your nearest "local" repair shop, the "biggies" will want to replace bumper etc etc,
looks like she clouted the wheel rim too, remove wheel trim, jack car up and spin that front wheel to see if it's out of shape, Fabia steel rims buckle very very easily, I've had to replace two on wifey's Fabia after she "barely tipped" a kerb.

If it will push out your talking repair and paint the front bumper. Maybe €250.

You're lucky it wasn't TDI - ye'd both be dead. With great power comes great responsibility...

But, back in the real world, keep an eye out for any leaks/puddles in case the rad or a hose was damaged?

hard to say but from the pics the bumper might need to be replaced, as it looks to be out of line with the wing, clips could be fecked.

I see two options ( as long as no other damge behind bumper

    1. Pop bumper out and use existing undamged clips or use bolts to replace clips, remove and respray bumper, re spray and blend wing... I would say close to €500.00 all in

    2. new bumper, re-spray and repair and paint wing. probably be around the €750 mark

    Front Bumper around €110
    Paint/Primer €50
    Bodyshop €150

    There or thereabouts.

Imagine the kerfuffle if we damaged wifey's motor..

I'd consider sorting the wheel/tyre and leaving the rest, at least until she passes her test. I'd also pay for professional lessons, rather than trying to teach her myself.

Yup, judging by that there will surely be a few more (hopefully smaller) dings.

Actually, may we ask what she hit/mounted?

Quite likely it might compound out :)
I said attention rather than painting as I can't tell from the pic :)

Actually its kind of because of the new lessons system that this happened!
I recently forked out €420 for the official set of lessons.

Lesson one went fine, its just basically how to work the lights etc on the car and very basic driving - she drove around a car park for a few minutes as part of it.
However the second lesson is supposed to cover lane changes etc which is a massive step up to my mind.
I'm supposed to get her ready for that as her "sponsor" but without a dual control car..its a big ask for a nervous non mechanically minded driver it seems. She still stalls the car maybe 20% of the time just moving off , others she shoots forward like this time, unfortunately she hit a large curb before I could grab the hand brake to stop the car.

I guess I'll just have to pay for extra lessons between the EDT lessons, as they seem to be in a very strange order which doesn't suit learning from scratch in my opinion.

Seems strange, but not that unusual - I started a few years ago with ISM: first lesson was a few laps of an industrial estate. Second lesson was out through Newland's Cross and straight down the N7
    I lived...

There are a whole load of stains on the ground just under the front of the car. Either the car had a leak for ages or its got a bad one now after the accident.

My first driving instructor took me out on the road in the first lesson: 30 mph in traffic.

He said it was a waste of time to learn in a carpark, you just set up another mental barrier to learning on the road.

My first driving instructor took me out on the road in the first lesson: 30 mph in traffic.

That was mine too. Drove the car from my house, to a nearby carpark. Then back again. Second lesson was out in the middle of morning rush hour (because early morning lessons were easier to get) pootling around schoolkids and the like with idiots rushing left right and centre and cars coming from all angles while I'm still figuring out the controls. Third lesson was the first without an instructor, and managed to take the wrong exit on a roundabout and wander onto the M50 by mistake. Passenger was giving directions and I misheard. That was a bit of a brick ****ter...

    A quick update on this.
Got it repaired by Ever-Ready Crash Repairs on Baggot Lane, Ballsbridge. Great job done, €397 all in, very happy with the service, was expecting it to cost a lot more.,
Bumper was heated and popped out and resprayed, new wing liner fitted, new wheel, paint work touched up on the wing and rear (from a previous scrape..). Almost looks like new, couldn't ask for better without replacing the whole bumper.
Would recommend the shop to anyone.

Yeah, looks a little like something is hanging down from the underside of the left of the car, on both pictures.
