So, I know a "guy", who burnt all his garbage of the last two months out back this evening, fine fire it was, still going I think, saved himself 40 or 50 euro in the waste transfer station.
What class of a bollocks would do a thing like that, damaging the envoirnment outa pure maneness ? ;)

One of my neighbors did the same thing tonight...The smell of burning rubber and waste in my house this evening after his bonfire would induce strokes, it was that bad..

Was he on 'the other side of the mountain' or what?

Any fcuker who tried that within 300 metres of 'Casa Flutt', would get a well polished Dube planted to the top of the laces in the seam of his nutsack.

Mean fcukers,no problem going down to the beeeewkies and spending the day there, but doing their duty, no way.

Full instep up under the plumbag, with force!! Only answer.

There was an elderly woman living right beside (not ext door, but literally 2 mins away from the back door - there's a small path from the back of our house until you get to the road) that used to burn stuff, probably her rubbish for years (either there wasn't much of it, or it was only some of it), so it's not just a recession thing, just something people do..

Usually a lot of black smoke, though.

Rubbish burning has reduced dramatically in recent years. Might not be legal to do it but a few people burning bits n pieces every now and then is nothing in the great scheme of things. Its not average joes burning rubbish that fúcks shít up its them massive companies who cant be arsed meeting the emission standards.

Barbeques and bonfires on special occasions, fine.

Being too much of a tight-fisted scumbag to care that you're burning god knows what, and releasing who knows into the atmosphere, boggles the mind. Stinks of ignorance IMO.

Ignorance imo in this case is not knowing that it will require about 2-3 litres of petrol to be burnt to take the bags to the waste transfer station, where they will use an electric compactor to press it into skips, more diesel burnt to transport it to a landfill, where it will sit, some decomposing into groundwater, some never decomposing, polluting the envoirnment at least as much as in a burn onsite situation. Check out the half life of non-recyclable plastic for example.

*I recycle everything..................and so does "this guy"

My next door neighbour does the same thing,he never puts out a wheelie bin or a recycling bag ever.Just burns everything up the back garden, not only that but he fcuks things like old washing machines and microwave ovens and the like into the hedges between our two gardens.I often feel like reporting him but if he found out it was me it could get nasty.

Ah, if someone is burning their own garbage in their own backgarden. Thats their deal.

leave them too it. Its their place after all.

There are problems with big companies polluting. There are also problems with people burning nasty stuff in housing estates. Both need to be dealt with.

And what is nasty isn't readily obvious to the average Neanderthal.
Barbeques and bonfires on special occasions, fine.
Assuming you are burning things like charcoal and timber. Plastics, paints, tyres, etc., no thank you.

    That's fair sh*t
There's no cost to recycling, enviornmental or monetary.

Please refer to Flutterinbantams earlier post for appropriate action.

    Agreed, refer to my location.

Also agreed, I My "Aquaintence" a'int no Neanderthal though.

My own opinion, recycle absolutely everything you can, Burn the rest.

Unless it's in a barrel and he's only got a harmonica and a bottle of Nighttrain for warmth it's bad form.

Use a bloody bin like everyone else.

I am not sure of the law in all areas but hereabouts burning any sort of rubish in your back garden is against the law. If you burn anything bigger than a bar-b-que you will be in trouble.

one of our neighbours persistantly burnt garden weeds while they where still green - really had to redo a lot of washing. They got annoyed when the Fire Brigade were called and they had to pay a call out charge.

Just for the record burning green waste is legal provided it does not interferewith your neighbours or a public road. Burning anything other than green waste is obviously totally illegal. I live in a rural area and have a large garden which generates a lot of waste - hedge clippings, branches of trees etc. I contacted my local council to find out what the exact situation was and was given the above explanation. Having said that I have recently bought a garden shredder so instead of burning I know have an endless sully of mulch.

If you do not have any neighbours living near who will be affected by the smoke, then I don't see what the problem is. Unfortunately, where I live, although in a rural area, helicopters regularly patrol to check that people are not burning anything. For some reason, although I cannot imagine why, it is illegal.

People burn all sorts of toxic rubbish, if the fumes and smoke wander into my house, making me or my family ill, i got no problem reporting you.

I don't care how frugal you are or what your situation is, or how justified you think you are in doing it, if its harming the health of others thats where i draw the line.

I don't get it. Green waste decomposes quickly and increases the fertility of the land.
