    first fox
I gave kildarehmr a text there today to see if he was able to go for a shot on my permission as hes been helping me out get started with the foxing, but he wasnt able to head out,so when i got home from work i tought about going to the range instead but got delayed and by 7.30 iwas getting lazy and gave up on going to the range I took a look out the window at the amazing evening and said feck it got my ruger m77 m2 223 out of the safe and a box of hornady 55gr vmaxs and threw them in the bag and hopped in the car and headed out the road.
I arrived at the fields around 7.45 got out the bag and the rifle and headed up the fields, after getting over the gate i spotted a fox running along the ditch but couldnt take the shot as there is house behind it,thinking my chance was gone for the evening i headed down towards the gorse at the bottom of the field and decided to walk a route around the hill, just as i came through a gap in the trees into the next field i got the urge to head back down the hill and begorrah wasnt i glad i did!!!
There out in the sun about 190yards away was a big fox which was soon joined by another,by this stage the heart was thumping i was getting ready to take the shot but couldnt get a good position, just as i was ready to pull the trigger the foxes went around behind a gorse bush cursing myself for being so slow i got up moved around into the long grass towards where i guessed they had headed, then i saw a flash of colour to my right about 80yards away it was 2 cubs play fighting in the long grass paying no attention to me, i slid the bolt forward slowly and chambered a round looking at the cub through the scope i squeezed the trigger,BANG i saw the 1st cub go down then the other cub took off at a sprint but went away from me to about 120yards then took a left turn headed down hill then back towards me he stopped at 70yards and sat up out of the long grass exposing the very top of his chest with his snout straight up in the air,i squeezed the trigger again and hear the thump as the round hit home

Well done :) Rarely see them out in the daylight around here. Went out for an hour around 1am last night, waste of time!

yeah homer i was talking to you about that before,i like her shes nice and light but has a heavy trigger pull, the barrel is very thin a real sporter profile, its going be hard to get a mod on it!i fired a tikka the other day it has a much nicer trigger and it had a mod,it makes some difference to the noise!

I find the Fox Caller UK a great caller. Nice and small and can be used while watching your target through the scope. A few lads have them on here and they all seem impressed with them.

you wont forget the first fox well done. have tried lots of callers, electronic, sqeakers, blowers. the bud bottle and bit of aeroboard works good as any of them. no batteries needed

imight try the aeroboard, the last ucaller i saw was 120e,if the aeroboard works that would be good, but you will need to 2 hands to use the bottle with it?
