Flat Hike

    Hi guys

    I'm looking for a recommendation of a relatively flat hike (no scrabbling over rocks etc) which would range 10-14km roundtrip in the Dublin / Wicklow area?

    Obviously any road would provide this but looking for something a bit scenic, and preferably not tarmac (gravel is fine!). Have a car, so can drive to it.

    Going hiking with someone who has an arm injury at the moment so can't really handle a hike up a mountain!

    How about the trails around Ticknock, Tibradden, the Hellfire Club, Knockree woods, the Devil's Glen, Glencree (that one has a very flat hike with almost no climbing), Glendalough (here there are a load of lovely marked trails, so no nav at all), Bray Head, or the Lead Mines in Carrickmines?

    Probably the nicest trails are at the Tibradden section of the Dublin Mountains Way, the Glendalough tracks, and the Devil's Glen. All three are marked nice and gentle trails with no clambering or climbing over stuff, but none are as long as you'd like. To be honest, in the Dublin and Wicklow Mountains, it would be quite hard to find a route that doesn't involve retracing your steps, road walking or open mountain walking.

    Cheers - that's a good start! I think we'll just re-trace our steps and maybe do two laps or something - Glendalough is probably the best bet for variety!

    Killmashogue to 3 rock is a nice walk, wide gravel path all the way. It's very close to Dublin, so no long drive to get there. Killmashogue car park is up behind st columbis college, not far from the back of Marley park.
