Hey all, have a brand new Bianchi but I cant get one of my bottle holders on the frame cause the threads seem to be gone out from the frame for some reason. Any suggestions or will a tube of super glue sort it? Really need a second bottle once the sun eventually comes out....

If it's brand new take it back to the shop. If you bought online you might want to ask the retailer if it's OK to get it looked at locally (as it shouldn't be too difficult to sort out, but they would presumably not wish to incur an additional 2 lots of carriage)

Is the bottle boss loose in the frame or are the threads completely stripped? If the boss is loose, just turning around when you try to fix a cage to it, then the fix is pretty easy.

    I followed these instructions: http://www.parktool.com/blog/repair-help/water-bottle-fittings

Only difficulty was finding a spare axle, had to remove one from a wheel.

If it is stripped, a good shop might take off the old riv-nut, and install a new one. Parts are cheap, but cutting out the old nut might incur a bit of labour.

Seems like the threads itself are shot. The last 1/4 cm of the nut fits in but seeing as the cage itself is thicker it can't reach this spot.Unless I can pick up a longer nut in the local hardware.

I've a feeling I did it myself. They put a cage on in the shop originally but I took it off because it was rattling and couldn't get it back on. Didn't think the threads were so fragile. Sure I'll give the shop a ring and see what they quote me.

If it's a brand new bike they should not be charging you, unless you've damaged it yourself - it should be covered under warranty

Any update on your problem? Any satisfaction from the shop in question? Looks like iv the exact same problem with mine! Only going in so far but its not tightening at all! Rang the shop and they seem very slow to give me any answers, even tho its only 8 months old!
