    new plumber doesnt do solars

Really? I'm afraid I would be looking for a third plumber. Times have changed and they can be found - no longer eating lobsters the size of Jack Russels either....

I wouldn't have a plumber to "doesn't do solar" put in a solar panel.

All that said, in a new house, with scaffolding in place, putting the panels on the roof when scaffolding is in place, connecting it to an existing cylinder, filling and flushing should all be done in about 1 to 1.5 person-days. I would get the spark to run the cables for the probes and controller etc., and setting the whole thing up should be no more than a couple of hours.

Unless you "don't do solar", in which case you can do very few new houses that aim to be compliant with Part L of the building code.

    Hi Jazzy21
The cost should be around the €600 + VAT Inc scaffolding.
If scaffolding cannot be used then the fitter would require a cherry picker, these cost around €150 per day.
I'm guessing you bought a kit, and therefore you will also need to allow for pipe fixings and a small amount of fittings.
These jobs normally only take 1-2days.
The majority of plumbers now sub contract out the solar to a specialist companies who can fit the complete system at a reasonable price.
The main reason plumbers now don't do solar is insurance, they might not be covered to work on a roof.
I have noticed lately that a lot of plumbers will not fit the kits bought by the home owner in the hardware store because if there is a problem with the system in the future who is responsible for the repair?
Is it down to the plumber or the supplier?
You will also see adverts for complete solar systems from €?????
These complete kits are never complete and the extras do add up.

    Cc
