Did you do the FETAC in Galway OP?

I went this exact route you're wondering about and I got in and done the three years, got a first in my degree and went on into employment in the industry both during and after the course. A lot of others in the class did too. The FETAC actually helped a lot with the practical side of it. I was also able to use some of the FETAC editing modules for credits so I didn't have to do two modules in second and third year that the rest of the class had to do.

You will have an exam and an interview to determine your entry if you're over 23 and applying as a mature student. They aren't that challenging if you've already been doing a media course. The Media Studies Faculty have always spoken very highly of people who take this route when I've spoken to them about it.

The best thing you can do in the interview is know the course contents well and be able to chat with them about which parts you would enjoy or think you'd be strong in.

I imagine it's the same as any other course really then if you're using LC points. When I did it the points were around 425. I'm not sure if your cert comes into play but maybe it does, I've no idea about it really.
