Met a ute similar to the one below but it had a higher roof in Sligo today.

Queensland plates on it. They must be dedicated travelers to bring it this far, either by road or by boat!

    Nice machine.
I prefer the troopie though, handier for keeping stuff secure.
Was it coil or leaf? Thats the only real difference between the 75 and 79 series AFAIK.

I don't know, it was the older model to your pic.

Had the spare wheel up on the roof, looked like it was used as a camper. If I was a minute earlier I would have been parked at a junction and would have got a pic of it.

Spotted the maroon letters on the plate from a long way off!

slightly OT but has anyone seen the mental prices being asked for those 70 series Cruisers. think a 00 was working out at €15k brought from Japan last time I looked :o

I like those Land Cruiser utes, saw loads of trayback ones in NZ a couple of years ago.

OK maybe it wasnt me i have green letters on the plates, but I was in that neck of the woods around, Tubercurry, Sligo , Arigna, Manorhamilton.

A Ute is a pickup version. The hardbody topped are called "troop carriers" or "troopies".

I've heard of a similar light green troopie to mine near Lurgan. I've seen the roof top of a black Ute with drop on/off camper body in Achill but im guessing its of European origin.

Close call but there must have been 2 of ye floating around.

It was a troopie but I am nearly sure it had a higher roof than yours and the spare was definitely thrown up on top of it!
