    Hello,
I have personal data on my work laptop which I must hand back when contract ends next month. There is household data/banking data/web history etc etc. How do I wipe the lot?

http://eraser.heidi.ie/ try this program, install it, then delete the files you want to remove using it, provides a secure erase. Regarding internet files, you'll have to use it on the temporary internet folder, which you will have to locate on the computer, it's generally located in your profile folder under c:\documents and settings\YOUR PROFILE\ in windows xp OR c:\users\YOUR PROFILE in vista/win7. I forgot to mention, you could completely wipe the entire drive using Drakes Boot and Nuke. It gives the option for secure erasure of the drive, however this will also wipe the operating system. (Both mentioned programs are free).
