NCT - Emissions failure

    Hi folks,

'96 Hyundai Accent recently failed its NCT for emissions. The readings were as follows:
CO was .45 vol% (.15 above acceptable level)
HC was 294 ppm (94 ppm above acceptable level)

Since then I have given the car:
    • a full service (it was due)
    • a new lambda sensor
    • and a mechanic I know will put a new catalytic converter in too.

How likely is all this to fix the issue for the re-test? Are there any mixtures I can put into the car that would further improve its emissions?

    Thanks
