Item left on plane, where has a Ryanair plane flown that day

    Hi,

Last Thursday I left an Amazon Kindle eReader on a Ryanair flight going from Liverpool to Dublin (4pm).

I left the Kindle in the side pocket of the emergency exit seat on the left hand side first row.

I only released I left is there the following day (was flustered getting off the plane due to work)

I have rang lost & found in Dublin airport and its not there. The plane was flying back to Liverpool and then flying to Porto so I rang those Airports and no sign of it there either.

Does anyone know how to find out where this plane went next? Tried to contact Ryanair but no luck.

I know its a total long shot but it might have been a while before anyone noticed it was there. It was tucked behind the safety leaflets.

    Cheers

I thought the Ryanair seats didn't have pockets. I'd say you are going to find it difficult to get that back. Another passenger probably has it now.

I'm sorry I can't answer your question. I believe Ryanair flights are cleaned by the cabin crew, rather than by contract cleaners like other airlines. It might be best trying to contact the cabin crew (or asking Ryanair to contact them).

Check your ticket stub or e-mail receipt and contact Ryanair with all the flight details. They'll know where the plane has been and if you're really lucky it may have been handed in to lost and found somewhere.

I tired all the above thanks. Ryanair would only tell me the next two destinations of the plane for some reason and I rang those airports.

I was sitting in one of only two seats on the plane that had a storage compartment (bottom left of the first seat).

It was a long shot to be honest. I just hope whoever stole it, enjoys all the ebooks.

If something is not yours and the owner has not given you access/rights to it, no matter where you find it, if you keep it, you are stealing it.

A decent honest person would have turned the item in.

Slightly OT - but is it possible to put a password on the kindle?

Ya I tried that, but you cannot lock the WiFi version remotely. The only thing you can do is to de-register the kindle on Amazon so they cannot buy books on your account.

You cannot put a password on it in general I think (at least when I had it, I could not find a setting to do so)

Sorry to hear that - bit of a mistake on Amazons part. Hope someone turns it in for you.

Reading this made me sad. Sarah, imagine you lost something of yours. Your mobile phone, say. It had run out of battery, so calling it was useless. You loved that phone and it had irreplaceable pictures on it too.

Say you left it on and aeroplane. Say you called frantically the airline, airports, maybe other places - desperately trying to track it down. Now, imagine someone on one of the numbers you called told you yes - your phone was there - it was handed in by a kind passenger who found it on the plane. What would you think? Would you think the person was kind and did what he'd want someone else to do if the shoe were on the other foot? Or do you think he should have pocketed your phone (finders keepers)?

This isn't a normal case of losing a phone or a bag... Whoever finds it knows that it could belong to anyone in Europe. What country's lost and found do you leave it in? And the assumption is going to be that the unfortunate passenger doesn't have a chance in hell of getting it back or will even bother trying. I know I wouldn't.
So the honest guy who would normally hand in a phone in a bar could very easily keep the kindle from a plane.

Time to start on your Travel insurance claim, read all the terms & conditions before informing them with a fine tooth comb, because they will use any excuse not to pay out!

But if they found it, they must have known that it belonged to someone else. It wasn't like Amazon just left a random kindle for people to find.

Sorry, Op, hope you find it! Have you tried searching for forums where airline crews post? You could post something there, it might help!
