Only in ireland would the townspeople be worried about electing a new mayor as the town is burning to the ground.. No of these people represent the values of the working class people.. And dont get me started on Fergus Finlay, he still wont tell us how much Barnardo's pay him..

Wow, that's a lot of charity fatcats going for the Labour nomination.

It seems any independent have a major uphill struggle just to get nominated.

Yes Pat is always right, nobody who disagrees with the world's foremost badger conservationist could ever be correct!

    Good man Pat!

I think Pat got tips from Joe Duffy on how to "spot the shinner" in the audience..

I think Michael D and David Norris should be locked in a room to read poems and Greek history to each other for eternity.. These guys have NOTHING in common with the ordinary Irish man..

If one of them would be honest & come out and say I want the big salary & expenses I'd be inclined to vote for them.

'Making change happen' ... bullsh1t. No wonder Tom looks bemused

Surely we can do better than everyone who has announced so far that they want to be Preisdent.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 34,567 ✭✭✭✭Biggins

Honestly, even if Norris wasn't (hopefully) running, I could see myself voting for the most of those so far!
    Honestly.

Have these people actually thought about more than choosing the wallpaper in the Aras? Painfully poor standard here tonight.

And our previous presidents have? I'd much rather have a president who is open about his / her intellectualism & wears it on their sleeve as a point of pride, then suffer some spoofer politician posing for photo-ops holding a pint.

Norris Cole (MDH) wont be getting my vote anyhow.

Whether you would agree with that guy who said the office of president was a waste, Plank is proper ignorant to cut him off.
What is the point in having a discussion show where you ask the audience their opinion when your not going to at least let them be entitled to their opinion?

I've never heard a load of bull in all my life on this show so far.

    Higgins for President

Best of a bad bunch for sure

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,718 ✭✭✭✭JonathanAnon

Seems like each one has a plant in the audience..

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 34,567 ✭✭✭✭Biggins

Jeasus, tonight show was a load of crap.
I wouldn't vote for any of them - and Higgins came off the worst in my opinion!
What the hell was he on about most of the time! Away with the hypotheticals and what sounded like non-achievable building plans for Utopia!

    lol. :)

Wow, I never knew Tom McGurk was such an idiot. After getting shot down for being obviously wrong for saying they weren't addressing the "real issues" facing people he had like 30 minutes to come up with some sort of cogent response that was a bit different.

And yet the best he can come up with is again...: "I think they should cut out this happy clappy stuff". What kind of Fisher Price political "analyst" is he???

He lives in his past. Its just a gold watch and a state funeral gig for him.

Such a pathetic bunch of spoofers .... in honesty if you went to a job interview & spoofed like that you'd be kicked out and rightly so. Mouthing silly platitudes and clearly Mary whatshername doesn't even understand the job description. That guy in the audience fairly showed her up!

Pity David Norris wasn't there at least he's produce an original thought.

Maybe he suspected the type of crap they were going (and did) to come out with!
Christ - I wouldn't want to be seen sitting beside that bunch!
Might have been the best move Norris has done (or not done!) so far!

Wow, I never knew Tom McGurk was such an idiot.

McGuirk seems to be hugely disliked among the media/political people.. Heard Dunphy and his panel having a few snide jibes at him a couple of weeks ago.. But I would agree both of the "analysts" were very poor.. They were sitting on the fence as much as the left wing Presidential candidates...

As an exercise, try replacing "young men and boys" with "young women and girls".

Last night was absolutely dire in my opinion.
...And I can say that honestly after a night of reflection.
I never heard a load of high-fluted cock and bull theory bullschite in all my life.
NONE of them deserve to be president of the country. None of them!
