Clarke-Tech or Xtrend ET9000 Receiver?

    Looking at purchasing an ET9000, however was wondering is there any reason to buy one brand versus the other?

    The ET9000 is marketed under 2 brand names, originally as Clarke-Tech and now Xtrend. Technically they seem to be the same box with just different badges on the front.
    Can get a CT from Germany for €357 delivered, but just a bit concerned if it was discontinued could I run into warranty problems if anything happened to it?

    Any advice welcome

    Regards
    WW

    From CT support forum.

    Has there have been many rumors around concerning our products,
    Clarke-Tech would like to assure our customers that the ct et9000 will always be supported and sold by our company.
    There are new exciting products on the horizon and the members of the Clarke-Tech Support forum
    will be the first to know about them.

    xtrend and CT are exactly same box, latest vix image bootlogo for et9000 is xtrend brand name.

    same box mate, so no worries with warranty etc

    Very good receiver with a good hardware spec ... try all the available images eg CT,Blackhole etc and then go with the one you're happy with

    Guys, thks for quick response

    @stanley1
    Did look at CT forum before posting here, but it looked a bit bare - only discussion re Xtrend was whether they could discuss it or not!

    @rob
    As regards what image to use, have every intention of trying them all initially to see what's what. Excluding VIX what would you recommend first - looking for stability before bells and whistles!

    As regards, buying a receiver from Germany - any thoughts?
    Have bought a number of items from Germany over the years, but no one item was ever > €100.

    Just to let ye know, ordered box yesterday. and currently up in the clouds somewhere ( could be by road as well!) heading towards Dublin.
    Images gathered and ready to load ....

    Quick question re BH - its dated Jan2011 with drivers approx the same date
    Should I update to latest drivers immediately after flash? interested in seeing what blindscan can do

    Regards

    Hi mate,

    Yes update the drivers once the image is loaded up, this is the only issue really with Blackhole in that you have to manually update the drivers, but its a small price to pay for a decent image
