Seeking Hair Product Recommendation: How to keep my (fine, straight) Big Hair Big?

Help! How do I keep my Big Hair big?

Following many recommendations from Boardsies I bought myself a Babyliss Big Hair on Saturday (€49.99 in Currys at the moment)

I'm a hair clutz but this yoke is good. With it my hair is easily 'embiggened' which is no mean feat as I have fine, straight hair that tends to be flyaway and doesn't do what it's told (much like its owner)

After using my new 'Big Hair' my hair is big and bouncy and full of volume and shine and other good things. Sadly, within an hour or two (or five minutes if I go outside in a breeze) it starts to deflate and flop and sag and generally lose its bounce and shape.

What product should I use to keep my Big Hair big and bouncy and shiny? I've seen YouTube video demos of the Babyliss Big Hair that recommed powder like V05 Give Me Texture and a heat protection serum (I think it was Tresemme Thermal Creations). Would you recommend these products? Are they suitable for fine straight hair? I'm reluctant to use anything oily as my hairy gets greasy at the roots very quickly. Any other suggestions?

I use Tresemme volume mousse, dry upside down then use the babyliss big hair and use loads of Elnett hairspray and it holds the style really well.

Thanks for those suggestions Scraggs. Does your hair not end up a bit 'crunchy' and dull with hairspray? I have Elnett at home and it does leave my hair a bit crunchy (I'm used to my hair being very soft as its unprocessed (no colour at all and rarely use heat on it ... though that's likely to change with my new Big Hair!)

Any suggestions for a product to protect my hair from the heat of my new toy?
