Tough course around the roads below Knocknarae. Excellent preparation for the Warriors run or for anyone looking for a good value and well organised accurate 10k race. Race 4 Sligo Road race league 2011. Route map to follow.

On the Run Ireland website (link), it says that the start time for walkers is 6.00 and start time for runners is 6.30. I'm assuming that's meant to be the other way round? Or are there two different routes?

According to the facebook page http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100002132830656 it is the same. 6 for walkers and 6.30 for runners. Never noticed that. Reg is from 4-6.

Thats usually the way for longer races where the time taken to walk 10k is significant. Wasame in Maugherow 10k. Fair enough for organisation logic=stics and also to allow family members of runners have their excercise without being out too long after the race is finished.

There wont be enough walkers to pose any obstacle to the runners.

Don't know about this race, but the Raheny 5 mile starts the walkers before the runners, and they follow the same route.
