Anyone own or has used this model aeg? Considering purchasing it and would like some feedback. It won't be one of my primary weapons but i'm in the market for one and i'm wondering is it worth the extra cost over a JG/Cyma MP5. Cheers.

Its not worth the extra cost... its good, sure, but you'd be better off getting a cyma full metal sd6, or even a g&g pm5 whatever the sd6, or src ones are cheaper, but better made...

The tm mp5 is a bit crappy on the range front, and rather creaky. Not much value for the cost of them. (the cost is mostly for the TM name)

Cheers Firekitten. Have a couple of other TM guns and am an admirer of the brand but i had heard mixed reports about this one. As i mentioned, it wont be a primary gun so was unsure whether the cost of it would be justified.

Not sure what you could possibly hear that's mixed....

Tm guns, are pretty much all bombproof. They just work. Today however, they have been surpassed externally, by many other brands, and for the quality of internals, I wouldn't say they are justified anymore. If you intend to ever upgrade the gun, don't bother getting the tm. not worth it. if you never want to upgrade it... its a great out of the box mp5 , and last forever.

Had googled reviews of the gun and some were positive about it and some were not so positive. Most reviews were american based so hard to gauge from a market that is used to alot higher fps figures than Marui put out. Wanted to hear from first hand experience someone that may have owned or used one. As i said, have owned and used a number of Marui aegs but since i'll only be using it occasionally i wondered whether it was much ahead of the other brands i mentioned.

Tm are great if you dont upgrade them, if you do, to US fps, you need to replace most parts. They simply arent designed for it. At thier standard fps, they run forever.

Ive owned one before, its not bad, and its not brilliant, I'd shop elsewhere, you can get more for your money though.

Kind of what i was hoping to hear, cheers. Wouldn't be upgrading it much at all. Have you used any of the other brand MP5's and any you would recommend?

I've owned Tm, Ca, ICS, and JG.

Best ive used, has been the ICS honestly, though the new g&g and src are nice.

If you want a great mp5... Ics is the way to go imo.

Yes, it is not a pretty gun...but it is the only one with a functioning 3 round burst on the fire select. I'd be getting it, tearing off the stock + handguard, and replacing promptly. I am not sure about its lower receiver as in some pictures it looks like they've changed it, adding lots of horizontal lines, but in others it looks like the bog standard lower.
