    Hi

I am running windows 7 home premium 64 bit. I am running an update SP1 KB976932. It wont update as its stating Error_Not_Found(0X80074
0490)I run the troubleshoot and it states it fixes it but it still wont update. Running eset nod32 antivirus 4 and even when I turn this off it wont update.

Tried Google for answers but no joy anyone got any ideas?

Have you rebooted since your most recent update ? It could be that an update hasnt yet been applied that SP1 is dependent on .

A couple of other things you could look at on this page >>> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2505743

    Tried the below
Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow.
Type the following command, and then press ENTER:
    sfc /scannow
The sfc /scannow command scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions.

    Got this

Windows resource protection did not find any integrity violations

Tried to update again and getting same error any other ideas ?

    Hi IrishGunner

Check out Mirosoft KB Article 958044

It looks to be a CBS corruption.

    ;)

Tried everything but no joy. Does mention option of putting in windows 7 disc and then load it there and then update. I have this pc a while and not sure if it came pre installed with windows 7, got it from Dell. Disc maybe in house if I can find it if not would there be any other way around this ?
