    Couldn't find a thread on this.
    Wondering what people think, going to go see it myself next week,
    more to support the Irish film industry than anything else.
    Hopefully it's worth a watch.

    Saw this last night. Its a nice movie. Not an all time classic but it kept me entertained and gave me a couple of chuckles along the way.
    Does aanyone know the story that its "kind of" inspired by?

    The plane, building the runway and Cork are the only connections between this film and the true story.

    Ruben Ocano had to make an emergency landing with his gulf stream jet on Mallow racecourse in 1983. A few people in mallow treated him like a king giving him free lodging in one of the towns hotels, free meals and tours of county Cork. He lapped it up for 6 weeks while the runway was being built. You would swear that in 1983 that Ireland was so backward that they couldn't send him home and he could return when the runway was completed :rolleyes:
