Hi, Will be getting a new TV in the next few weeks and I'm planning on buying an internet TV for checking emails and facebook in the sitting room without having to boot up old sparky. Just wondering how is it possible to enter in text on the TV...do you have to get a wireless keyboard or am I missing something? :)

Some models (such as philips) have apps for smartphones which enable you to use them as wireless keyboards. At the moment I think this is limited to iOS but I could be wrong.

The philips app allows you to type on your iphone or ipad ..... it's pretty good. There is also an android version.

There are keyboard apps for Samsung and Sony too (lots of others too I'd guess) but not used them.

BUT ..... internet on TV's is not very good yet, it's slow and clunky!

Best to buy a tv to be a tv. Internet and video requires a lot of processing power, almost like a PC. TV is not ideal for this but there is limited sucess.
Can add equipment later like a WD Live or Play On media player that can do extra features such as internet etc. A lot of new equipment is expected in 2011 in terms of media players etc so I would buy the TV now that suits your tv needs, then research for an internet/media player to add to your system.
After that you just connect to tv via hdmi. No point paying extra for these features in a tv that should be a min 5 ys investment because the media/intenet players are still at an early stage in deveopment.
Avoid putting all eggs in one basket.
