Went to the dentist loads of times and there was no problem with it. last week i went and my dentist said that it was a bad job. she said something about my gum bein swollen around it and…

Went to the dentist loads of times and there was no problem with it. last week i went and my dentist said that it was a bad job. she said something about my gum bein swollen around it and wants me to go see a gum specialist(i think) about it.
What does this mean? will i have to get it replaced or taken out etc.?
