Beer-wise it's a matter of the time of the year and mood. In the winter I think things like bottled stouts and winter warmer ales can be the order of the day. In the summer I'll drink seasonal summer beers, lighter ales, sometimes crisp lager ... even cider.

If I'm mixing drinks I'll often have either an Old Fashioned or a Dark and Stormy.

Old Fashioned: A good bourbon, agnostura bitters, cherries in maraschino syrup, orangle slice, ice, sugar.

Dark and Stormy: Goslings dark rum, Fentimans ginger beer, plenty of sliced lime (squeezed a bit first).

A few cans of Guinness to loosen up with then I switch to scotch and water ,The Famous Grouse would be my first choice.

    Wine

    Cocktails
I think this one's called a sixteen rum, well that's what my girlfriend calls it when she makes it for me! (rum - martini rosso - crodino - squeeze of lemon)

Famous Milan aperitif - Americano (martini - campari - dash soda)

These two are rather simple and don't require fresh ingredients (you can use the jif lemon things at a stretch for the Sixteen Rum)

    Beer
Try some Belgian Trappists if you don't like weak beer
