Anyone else notice if the RTE 1 and RTE 2 EPG's are incorrect giving only now and next for current day and then jumping onto tomorrow with just some programmes listed and so on for other days getting to a full days list sometime next week? TV3, TG4 and 3E seem to be ok.

How are you viewing the EPG?

I get this problem using DVBViewer Pro using a MobiDTV USB dongle on the PC.

According to my EPG at the moment programs finish tomorrow on RTE1 at 6pm with Fresh from the Sea being the last program.
There's nothing at all on RTE1 on Monday with programs resuming on Tuesday.

I have a Clarke Tech 5100 combo receiver. Haven't had any problems up to this so presuming the fault is with the broadcasters. Just checked using a Clark Tech 5000c with the same result, only channel which seems to be correct is TG4.

Ive been having problems with all rteNL channels on a usb nova-t tuner in a vu+duo box since Saorview was launched.

Saorview certified STB seems to be running normally, so is my sony idtv (don't think it has been certified).

What sort of problems had you with the Vu/Nova before this? I have two Vu+/Nova's operating off different masts, and both have been fine (apart from the weekend they knocked out the Edisions).

just epg missing entries, which started at the same time as the edision issue.

I haven't noticed any problems or gaps since then. FWIW I'm still using Vix 2.0.

Yes, I have also seen this happening this past week. RTE 1 & 2 stations at times are either giving wrong epg data for time slot, or no data via a current model Philips 8000 series TV.

Was always fine for me, but not working now. Vu Duo with BH 1.6.1.

The confusing thing is that when I put my nova-t stick into my laptop, and view it on vlc, all the information seems to be there.

I've the same problem on my Mediaportal HTPC with missing entries in the EPG, the EPG information is being broadcast in the EIT stream but the lanauge descriptor is set to "ENG" where it should be set to "eng". This is causing the problem, at least in my case.

I've a workaround by using EPG collector which outputs the EPG data into a xmltv file and a xmltv EPG loader for Mediaportal.

The logs from EPG collector actually say that two language descriptors are being used "ENG" and "eng". EPG collector seems to ignore the "ENG" descriptor and assumes it to be "eng" but not all DVB software does that.

It would be so easy for a engineer at RTE/RTENL to switch the descriptor flag from "ENG" to "eng" and fix the problems. Let's hope they do.

I have always assumed that the reason that I am having problems with DVBViewer is because I am also using it as a satellite receiver. It's easy to select the FreeSat EPG, but how do you get it to look for the DTT "transponder" to pick up the EPG. And which of the list of EPG types do RTE use?

I have asked about this problem on the DVBViewer forum, but got no reply from anyone.

RTE are also using "iri" flag which contrary to what RTE think is a Nigerian language, and not Irish, which is "gle"

Freesat uses a special custom EPG system (proprietary to Freesat D-Book and officially "secret"), so has to be selected.

RTE Saorview is using same as most German channels, a plain DVB-EIT EPG. No need to select anything.

I noticed that this evening RTEjnr had EPG data up to 9pm both on my Walker box & iDTV no service though. On my TV no data on Sunday from 4pm to 5:40pm but the Walker shows some programming.

Yes noticed it myself on the same gear. Chunks missing in the data not null but filled in for large time periods.

Also notice that the EPG data is loading now/next initially until the channel is selected within the epg, then the rest of the mux epg is loaded. What are they doing here that it is not loading the MUX data from the EIT/DVB-SI being broadcast.

Apogee or Fat Tony - could you give us a few TS Analyser files of the PMT/PAT etc

    Using MediaPortal 1.1.3

TG4 has listings , the other channels are all blank / no listings .

What are the chances that RTE will fix this ?

Is it easy for them to sort out ?

I could set up the webepg plugin for MediaPortal , bit would prefer to pull in the epg info OTA .

You could use EPG collector to create an xlmtv file direct from the dvb stream and frodo's xmltv plugin found in the plugin sections of MP TV server to import the file. It work 100% for me.
