Northern Ireland

So I want to go to Northern Ireland next weekend. I know about the most famous sites such as Giant's Causeway. If anybody here had 3 days to do a trip to the north and can stay anywhere without budget being a question where would you go?

I don't mind visiting a tourist area and doing things like that in the day but what would you do if you just want to chill in a pub along beautiful coast that is maybe less explored?

I was thinking of somewhere like Rathlin island but it seems they don't allow cars in easily. Anybody have any good suggestions about the north?

Coming from Dublin, check into your hotel in Belfast.
Grab a pint in the Crown bar, yes it's a tourist thing but hey, just do it
    Black cab tour.
Walk around the city centre, Belfast city centre is quiet small and compact. Go to the Titanic quarter
Was going to suggest go to Belfast Giants game but season is over. Opera in the evening maybe if that's your thing? And drinks

    Day 2
Drive up early to Giants causeway
Then Bushmills distillary. Pick up a bottle for me ;)

    Have lunch
Get the ferry to Rathlin Island, leave the car, you can cycle around for a few hours and take photos and go along the cliffs.
Mind you didn't have too many pints at lunchtime before going to the cliffs :pac:
Ferry back and drive back to Belfast.
Head out, restaurant and clubbing around Queens

    Day 3
A lazy morning, walk around the city centre and look at City Hall. Have lunch
Take a drive across Tyrone and maybe head to Fermanagh. Take your time, country roads and no rush.
Ah Fermanagh, where half the county is under water! Beautiful though, have a picnic by one of the many lakes.
Go to the visitor centre in the town. It's excellent and lots to see and videos to watch.
If you're interested in military history, lots of uniforms and equipment from the famous Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers on display.

Now drive home and send me a pm about my Bushmills

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately due to back problems I am having I would not be able to bicycle around the island. So I guess I am looking for areas with easy access that are not too well known. I know maybe this is impossible but I could drive a little further to be out of the way. However my current condition doesn't allow me to physically go off the trail that much.

    Thanks again

Not sure where you'd be starting from but the Causeway Coastal route is a lovely drive from/to Belfast and Derry. You pass the Causeway (hence the name), the rope bridge and a bundle of other stuff, plus Rathlin isn't too far off the route. There's a website here which lists all the good stuff. I'd also head over the border into Donegal whilst there, it'd almost be rude not to!

I am pretty sure I will do the loop from Dublin through Belfast up to the causeway and coming back down through Londonderry.

    Thanks for the feedback.
