I've been watching this printer for a while, and the price just dropped today to £65.70 on amazon.

    Samsung CLP-320 Colour Laser Printer

It gets great reviews and although the cartridges are quite expensive to replace, they can be refilled quite cheaply.

Where do you get the refills from? I have one of these printers and it would be cheaper to buy a new one than refill it at present.

You can get toner on ebay you will also need a reset chip for each colour.

Yeah, if you read the reviews on amazon, you'll see a lot of people have the same idea. A full set of full original cartridges cost around 140 quid, although the cartridges supplied with the printer are are around 70% filled, so wont last quite as long.

If you go down the refill route, it costs about 35 quid for a set of 4 reset chips which must be inserted into each cartridge, these are a one off purchase. After that you can refill all 4 cartridges for about 20 quid.

I had one of these about a year ago, (& I could have just had a faulty one), it started off grand, but after about four months there was a bleed of colour on every print. I ended up getting rid.

Does anybody know how good this printer is for printing regular size photos? Thinking of getting this for my dad as he uses an Epson at the moment for printing photos but if the Samsung does the same it would be a great offer.

do not buy this for photographic printing. Colour laser printers will not give you photographic quality prints. Epson Stylus Photo printers are far superior for photos.

you really need an inkjet for photo's-laser printers are all about volume whereas inkjets are for quality

That's a great price for this printer. The quality from it for both text and colour on plain paper is great.

As has been pointed out, laser printers are not suitable for printing photographs, but the cost of running a laser is a lot lower than an inkjet, so if you mainly print on a4 paper, i'd highly recommend this and use an online photo service for photographs instead, which works out cheaper than using an inkjet.
