Hard to know really until i could see you actually taking the shot.Could be any one of a number of things, my guess is your hitting the ball slightly harder for back spin/stun and your bridge hand is not secure enough. If there is a coach in your local club he should be able to put it right fairly quickly.

more than likely your putting on unwanted side, concentrate on delivering the cue in a straight line and see if it helps

I say its unwanted side too.

Try hitting the cue ball down the centre of the table along the spots, with backspin and a degree of power and see if the ball comes right back to you or comes back alittle to one side or the other.

In your case, I would think you are pushing the ball off line with right hand side. If that is a permanent problem, you might find that hitting ball down the spots (with back spin and some power) results in the cue ball coming back towards the yellow spot instead of stright back to the brown spot.

If this is the problem, keep cueing this shot down the spots until you fix the problem
