    I'd go for something that you would have easy access to spare parts, something that exotic would be hard to maintain. A Toyota Landcruiser with the windows plated up would do just fine,

    Something old, easy to maintain and diesel. I'd be thinking Land Cruiser or Hilux.

    Nissan Vanette for me, solid, reliable and dependable and not much to plate up. Despite being only 2wd it does handle cross country quite well and you could live in it like camper.
