mobile game music - what do you think?

    Hi,

I recently finished working on a soundtrack for 2 mobile games by Starwind Games.

I had great fun working on these projects, writing and recording music. I used orchestral libraries and hardware synths (Novation Supernova II, Waldorf Pulse+), as well as live acoustic violin and other instruments. Also in orchestral tracks I used Akai EWI (wind controller) to record brass parts (especially trumpet solos) for added reality.

I would really appreciate if you could have a listen to these short compilations and let me know what you think.

    Hi Niall,

Thanks for your kind words. I do believe adding live acoustic instruments to sample based tracks makes the difference and I always try to emphasize that aspect of my music.

I don't have any other released titles at the moment. A bit of my music features in a film "We'll always have Dingle" by Geoff Wonfor, but don't think the film is going to be in the distribution in Ireland. Have a look at my soundcloud profile though: soundcloud.com/pavthefiddler, there are few tracks there that you might like, there's a variety of stuff there as I'm involved in few different projects.

Also if you like game music you might like this as well, it's a track I wrote for a steampunk show: http://youtu.be/lFLyJmLKNcg

As you say there is a market for mobile game composers, there is a huge competition though, especially that anyone can make "music" of some sort using software. I got those two projects only because I spent many hours sending emails and contacting game studios.

    Regards,

    Pav
