Most of the time problems are pretty basic:
    - Battery fully charged?
    - Good quality battery/charger?
    - Fuse? Sometimes they can look fine, but can still be blown - try by-passing it to be sure

If there's still no noise coming from it, it'd be time to either disassemble or bring it to someone to get it checked out. That way you can check the power going to the motor, and isolate whether it's a gearbox problem or not. Normally if it's completely silent it will be electrical; dead battery, blown fuse, loose connection etc.

Have you done anything to it recently, or was it just out of the blue?

Take the motor out, connect it up and see if it spins. If it does it's a gearbox problem.
