    In some free WiFi my iphone shows it is connect,three blue symbols But it will not download internet etc.As other phones and Laptops are working I can not ask rooter to be changed. Is there any changes to my phone I can make? Most annoying,HELP please. All Blacks

    Are you talking about free public wifi networks? Do you need to authenticate (e.g. Enter a username and password)?

    No need to enter username or password. Just hit WiFi on phone.3 blue semi circles appear.Thanks.

    Does the phone work with other WiFi networks? Who owns these networks that you don't get any service from?

    When you connect to one of these problem networks, what happens if you open Safari and browse to google.com?

    Works with most open networks. Unable to oper Internet with Safari.inWiFe free zone do not know who the server is. One place gave me username & password to enter Would not work yet HIS iPhone did! Most times all ok, Very Strange.

    Dude - you're not giving a huge amount of information, so it's difficult to diagnose the problem.

    One thing worth considering is that not all "free" "open" networks are what they appear to be.

    When I choose a network and enter username & password my iPhone shows I am connected. If I then try to use an app eg Safari it tells me to use data roaming.The owner of the restaurant standing beside me with same settings on his iPhone works perfectly. ????
