can anyone remember the name of a really fancy toy shop that used to be on Henry St around where the Jervis is now?
It was a small single unit shop but it was like an Alladins cave of treasures, this would have been around 20 years or more ago and it had a posh name on it

I have vague recollections of being brought to Paddy Barretts as a kid (circa.1995), so it was still open then.

Yea Paddy Barretts, one of my regular haunts when first allowed into town alone he had the best stuff. Was it there til about the mid 90's? I remember reading an article when it had to shut down, it looked awful when it did.

I remember it being a black fronted shop and I think it was owned at the time by Quinnsworth. I used to buy toys for my daughter there!

Golly takes me right back and to just a few doors down, Mackeys! Used to pop in there to buy bulbs and seeds!

I remember Barratts well. From my hazy memory there was a big island unit cabinet in the centre of the floor and the sides were high shelved mahogany units. Remember getting Action Man and some Star Wars stuff from there as a kid.
