I see there is a new McDonalds Drive-Tru opening up there and there is a change of use application on the unit beside Diamond Living for conversion from Warehouse Retail to Discount Supermarket. Is there not enough of these in the area already?

There seems to be a demand for these sort of stores,One also opened up in the liver retail park opposite mcdonalds kylemore road.

Would that be a lidl/aldi or something else?

We already have both those shops on the Fonthill Road, less than five minutes away

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

Agree, another Aldi / Lidl there would be silly. Anyone know what it will be?

I'd a quick look through the retail impact study found here - http://www.sdublincoco.ie/index.aspx?pageid=144&ref=SD10A/0368 - and those stores weren't even mentioned (unless I missed it).

Just speculating, but there's a discount frozen food shop called "The Food Centre" in the industrial estate in Lucan village that is different enough in style from Lidl and Aldi to do well in the Retail Park.
