I received a letter from hse saying that i did not meet the criteria for g.p card..but I noticed on the breakdown of expenses they did not include my childcare costs ...I pay €150 to my mil per week...I did not have receipts but put in a letter expaining the situation...do they only include registered creches..
    Thanks

I would guess they would only include expenses you can prove, ie a registered business and you would have to supply reciepts. Otherwise anyone could claim they pay any amount to anyone??

On the other hand, I know that people who live at home with their parents are sometimes allowed to include 'rent' paid to their parents??

    It's a confusing one.

I was granted my card, I had creche reciepts, but they also allowed my rent paid to my parents with no reciepts, but then again it was a very small amount in the grand scheme of things.

On a side note €150 per week seems very steep to be paying a family member per week, obivously this is just an observation and I don't know your circumstances, but I pay roughly the same for a creche for my son.

    Hi Thanks for the responses....

marrakechheat, I applied online on the 24/03/11 and they looked for additional information at the end of April and I got a letter last week saying I didn't meet the criteria...so not that long all in all..hth

Shelli2..I have two children and work full time and opted with my mother in law minding them as she needed the money and she might as well be getting it rather than the creche..maybe now I would be better off with them in a creche if it would mean I would be entitled to a g.p card..not sure really

Maybe it depends on who is looking after your application if they approve some with no receipt and refuse others..

^^ Make sure you do'nt drop your mother in law in it, the Revenue will be after her for tax on the €150 a week.

Ya was a bit worried about that but I thought as an oap there was a certain amount you could earn over the state pension...
