    Which engine?

    1.6
    1.8
    1.8I
    1.9TD
    2.0?

A pretty rare engine in this country. Most of them were 1.8's.

It's a 100% Volvo unit anyway and is apparently quite reliable by modern Volvo standards.

There's nothing much to report here really except for maybe suspension issues, as they were known to be quite weak, particularly on earlier models. Volvo electrics are sometimes not the greatest either so check things like electric windows, warning lights on the dashboard etc.

    Thanks.
Yep all electrics working, no warning lights or anything like that.
Presuming it won't be all that economical to drive but has to be an improvement on my current gas guzzler

Yeah, they're supposedly thirsty enough for a four cylinder.

By all means a very comfortable and decent car though.

An e39 5 series would be a much more enjoyable car.

Obviously, but did the OP say they were considering one?

I think I'm missing something here

Edit: I now see it's in another thread the OP started.
