Having resigned myself to the fact I have to fork out about 30quid on a properly fitted bikini (high streets don't cater comfortably to my size), I am nw battling with colour....

Pale irish skin, the type that has blueish undertones..I don't take to fake tan very well and usually stick on a few coats of Johnsons..

I feel black is too drastic and I look glow in the dark, and reds/pink don't suit the skin tone. Used to have a blue one years ago but looked washed out..

Can anyone suggest colours that suit irish skin tones?

Dark blue. I'm really (really!) pale and I used to have a dark dark blue bikini that was great.

At the beach last weekend I wore this:

(couldn't find a pic of the matching bottoms)

It was alright against my colour, it might suit you.

    And it was €3...

I just realised how small that pic is, here's the website:http://www.clothingattesco.com/swimwear/f+f-gingham-print-bandeau-bikini-top/invt/jo113291/&bklist=icat,4,shop,catgwomens,womens-swimwear

Forgot to say, Tesco Clarehall is doing half price on all women's clothing today and tomorrow, includes bags and shoes.

I am still on the hunt tho for a 'nice' fitted bikini...and it can't be blue now cos i have one :)

Orange bikinis look great against pinkish/blueish pale Irish skin.:)

In fact orange is one colour that looks really wrong with a tan.

    Really?
I never really thought colour would be such an issue, but it really does make a difference..

Yep, the brighter the better! Totally counterintuitive, being milk-bottle pale myself, I didn't believe it until I tried it. It just enhances the nice tones in the skin and counteracts the blue/pink nicely.
