Is this possible? Where stocks sim free IP4? Also, will there be any complications using my PrePay Vodafone Sim in it once I return home.

AFAIK it is not available sim free in the US.

you need to sign a contract to get the iPhone in the USA.
which means you need to provide a Social Securoty Number.
Then the phone will be locked to AT&T.

cheaper and easier to buy from www.adverts.ie or www.apple.ie
