I'm looking to get a Russian smg for cqb.As much as Id love a gunsworkshop Bizon (near 1500 euro if not more.3/4 quarters down the page http://www.gunsworkshop.net/ )or a pp-2000 but I don't think anyone makes these.I'm not gone on the aksu or any of the other small aks.So I'm looking at the Scorpion.I'm a bit picky when it comes to my gear and i like it as close to real steel as possible. So I'm all open to your thoughts and impressions of this Aep.

Surely someone has some experience with one of these ?

I have no personal experience with AEPs but people I've asked tend to agree they aren't worth the trouble.

I'd suggest contacting a retailer maybe who sells them for an opinion. But generally tokyo marui make good airsoft devices.

Unfortunately I have no experience with the scorpion, but I can give you my experience with AEPs which would be a similar system, a shrunken AEG.

I own a CYMA desert eagle AEP. It's a gen 2 CYMA clone of the tokyo marui AEP system. Cyma made a glock AEP based on tokyo marui's AEP system with a 7.2v NiMH stick type battery, then a year or two later CYMA improved the system and released the gen 2s.

There was a desert eagle and sig P226 in this second generation by CYMA. It is personally one of my favourites of my collection. It runs on a 7.2v 450mah NiMH battery I think (not sure about the mah), and can last 10 30 round mags easy. The desert eagle was non blowback (the electric blowback pistol weren't good anyway and usually ran on AA batteries) and featured a full auto feature. This was one of my favourite features of the AEP. Semi auto was alright with some trigger lag but not good for consecutive shot firing but the full auto was a blast! Dump an entire 30 round mag in seconds. Oddly enough, trigger response was better in full auto. Good enough ROF to be a primary if needs be in my opinion but spare mags are VERY hard to find (could only use it's own mags, no cross model compatibility). The CYMA also came with a great hopup allowing for accuracy and range that never left me feeling like I was at a disadvantage to blowbacks in that regard.

The only negatives I had were the difficulty of acquiring mags (not available in Ireland, only abroad) and the low muzzle energy. They shot at about 200fps, alright at close range but although you can hit some at distance, it's likely that they won't call it. This is where full auto would come in (if outside) for distant shooting, because you can hear an AEP BB hit you just like any other BB.

I have had good experiences with my AEP and most of the negative comments I have heard about AEPs are not true in my experience. Good battery life, range, accuracy and a good ROF with full auto. The only downside might be someone not calling their hit, but in CQB it's not as much of a problem.

I'm sorry I couldn't talk about the exact system you are looking at, but those are my experiences with a clone of a similar tokyo marui system.

Found this later, an example of what it can do with mods:

i used the TM scopian today , man its very nice
range:nice for a small gun , dose the job
accuarcy: again good for a small gun
rof:again decent , not that great imo
feel:man it fells so weird , cause its so small its like ..were do i put my other hand (when using a drum mag)

i dont own it , just a guy on site had one and i was having a look at it. my opion is its a kick ass lil gun but its hard to say if its worth the money...

we crono'd it at around 210 (i think it was) but it shots far enough ,it sure dosnt feel that slow.

thats just my opion after shoting it for 5 minutes :D
