NRA Now have a Standards Website - worth a look

"The site provides access to the complete NRA DMRB and NRA MCDRW in downloadable format. The website is a repository for all current NRA Standards and NRA Interim Advice Notes and all current NRA Addenda to the UK DMRB Standards and Advice Notes, with links to referenced UK documents."

Wish the NRA would be given control over ALL roads. County Councils have no standards at all!

It's good to see that they have finally officially put on paper the correct way to begin and end a 'climbing lane' 10/15 and 10/16 in this document. There is nothing worst or more dangerous than the commonly found road-markings which indicate that overtaking traffic has right of way over slow traffic trying to keep some momentum going at the end of the section.
Only yesterday I saw examples of the wrong way to mark the end while travelling the N25 between Wexford and Cork, can I recommend the above publication the relevant Councils along the route :D.
I have seen so many 'last minute overtakers' forcing both oncoming and the overtaken into the hard shoulder .

NRA please get involved in Galway citys roads, Galway city council have just voted to put traffic lights about 800 yards from the roundabout at the end of the N/M6. This is going to cause even more chaos than the early days of the athlone bypass works

How mad is that? I suspect it's because drivers don't know how to use roundabouts or can't be bothered to learn!
