    Hi,

    Does anyone know where I'd find the definition of a golf club or what criteria a club must fulfill to be registered as such with the GUI, Revenue etc etc ? Must a club have a constitution to be recognised as a club ?

    Best bet might be to send off a simple enquiry to the GUI about affiliation etc.?

    Apologies,
    I called the Leinster Branch and it seems that having a constitution is one of the conditions of being affilliated, clause 10.2 apparently of their rules. The constitution must be approved by them
    also, as do changes to an existing constitution. If a club doesn't have one, they no longer fulfill their obligations for being an affilliated club and, effectively, cease to be one. The club wouldn't have the power to issue handicaps therefore.

    All this was verbal so I don't have any documentation to prove it's correct but have to assume it is coming from the administering body.

    For some reason I thought this related to a club (driver ,7 iron etc ) and had a vision of a mad scientist developing a super club.
