Amp blown

    How do,

I have a little Vox 15w solid state amp that blew a while ago. Some smoke came out of it and it fizzled out. When I had a look inside there was a butter knife stuck to the magnet on the speaker (wtf?) which I presume shorted it out somewhere. Any idea what could have happened and how to repair it?

    Cheers.

It could possibly be the transformer that blew due to the current passing through the butter knife as well as the speaker coil, but I may be wrong.

More than likely it'll be cheaper to replace the amp than repair it.

Bummer. The amp was free to begin with! I didn't really use it that much but woulda been nice to have. Ah well. Cheers for the reply.
