RAM, to cut another few € from what deconduo posted, although there is tiny differences in the RAM we posted and the one you did, if you building on a budget I think the going for the slightly cheaper would be good. But I am not an expert so I could be wrong.

You could also cut down on the case, you could get a nice case for €50 saving another €20

I thought you could get Win7 Home Premium on http://www.software4students.ie/ but it looks like you can only get Ultimate and Professional, I couldn't tell you what the differences are, but going with Pro would save you another €40. Of course you must know a student to get it.

Sandy bridge needs 1.5V RAM really, anything higher can cause problems.

Sorry to ask a different question here, just thought it would be better than creating a new thread.

So I ordered a pc from hardwareversand, I choose the prepayment thing. So they sent me the email about it, now, this may seem really stupid, but they gave me details in the email, Financial institution, Remitte, Remittee account, Bank Code, Amount, Intended Purepose, B.I.C.S.W.I.F.T, IBAN No:, so if I go to the bank and give them the stuff they sent me, and I transfer the money, how would they know that its from me and send it to me?

That may seem insanely stupid to you guys, but I have no idea how bank transfers work and stuff.

Any insight here would be fantastic.:o

Should prob start a new thread. But when you fill in the details of the payment there is an "additional details" field where you put your order number which should also have been confirmed to you. This is all they need to confirm that it is your payment. Do you have internet banking? Can be done online easily enough also. The BIC and the IBAN are the most important and are what your bank will be looking for.

Don't buy a cheap PSU, splash out for a good brand like Corsair or Antec. I found out the hard way that even though it was 650W, the PSU I got couldn't handle the i5+geforce 560. The one area of my new gaming build I'd shaved cash off, deffo not worth risking the entire machine, I'm just lucky it caused reboots and didn't catch fire or explode -.- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTVEtr14FEA

Also, check out overclockers.co.uk, they have a fantastic sale on today for a lot of what you're ordering =)

The SuperFlower Amazons are amazing PSUs, and are decently priced. The SuperFlower Golden Greens are even better.

Think I'll go Super Flower PSU, have a friend who has one in his PC and it working perfectly. Any recommendations on a CPU Cooler? The Cooler Master one is out of stock

    Thanks

Just don't buy the cheap superflowers (gamer edition or whatever they're called).

The scythe mugen 2 is a good heatsink. Although slightly awkward for installation, it's nice in the end.

I won't be installing it so no worries there, thanks. I'm gonna do a bitta research on the Super Flowers, very mixed opinions here

As far as I know the aseembly cost on hwvs doesn't include the CPU fan? I could be wrong though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,710 ✭✭✭Monotype

That's correct, they won't install the fan for you, unless it's a very light one. The mugen 2 is pretty heavy.

In case you were wondering about my post - Superflowers are good - e.g., the amazon, golden green, golden king, but don't buy their other ones, like these:

Ok, thanks for the advice guys. Here's how it looks:

    COMPUTER_CART.jpg

I see the motherboard is now out of stock, any recommendations on a similar one? :)

Why the overpriced Windows, PSU, RAM?

-The SuperFlower Amazon 450W is all you need for a single 6850 (saves you €30)

-You can get the German version of windows 7 and just DL + burn the english one to a disk. Its just the License Key you need anyway (saves you €35)

-This RAM would do you fine (saves €5):

As for the motherboard, theres a Pro3 SE in stock which is just as good.

Cheers, total cost now at E740, so close enough . How would ya go about DL'ing and burning the English version of Windows?

One more question, how difficult is it to install the fan ( this one) as I would have no idea how to go about it?

    Thanks again

There will be extra bits (brackets) that aren't in that picture to secure it to the MoBo, and you should get thermal paste aswell with it.
Also I have that Super Flower 550W PSU linked at the top in my rig and it gives no trouble

You would have to download it from <cough> bay and burn it to a dvd`using Imgburn, make sure it's the 64 bit one
