Hi People, I'm trying to increase my e-mail attachment (or even e-mail) size limit on my mac. I'm using Outlook:mac 2011.Seems that many people have the same problem when i google it, but the only answers I can find are done using Windows and going into registry files. Fair enough. But i'm using a Mac, and i'm not familiar with the programming language of Terminal. I'm sure there is a way, something like maximumlenghtvalue=.(i remember seeing this during my googling). Is there anyone here that could help?I've tried the outlook for mac help site.not very helpful ;) I keep receiving the 'exceeded attachment size limit' error message when i send anything over 10MB, which is a knightmare as I am a digital media student, and the files I use can be big.The ones i'm sending are not huge ( <50MB).Any help or point me towards somewhere I may get help would be appreciated.

Aren't attachments sizes usually regulated by the outgoing server? I don't see how changing a value in Outlook would change anything that the server won't allow.

IMO get an account on something like Dropbox, and email the URLs of files in the public folder.

Thanks for your response Aidan, but theres a problem with your solution i'm afraid. I'm actually trying to get this sorted for my father as he use's outlook on my imac. I personally don't use outlook on mac, as it pretty much sucks compared with other email like gmail.I use dropbox too myself, and Sugarsync, but my father isn't very tech savy and so the dropbox workaround wouldn't help him out!It took a long time before he got comfortable with outlook as it is, so adding more to his struggling technology know-how wouldnt be a good idea. As for your point on the outgoing server limits-yes, i've heard about this, but i can send the emails with all the attachments via his gmail account, just not through outlook, so its got to be an outlook issue.

That's because Outlook designed to connect to a Microsoft Exchange server which may have filesize limits. Most mail servers have a limit on filesize attachment size, web based ones just have bigger limits. Gmail's is 25MB. If you are using web mail ( Gmail ) why use Outlook or why not use the built in mail client in Mac. You can setup your Gmail for any client if you put in the correct POP settings. Use the Apple Mail client settings in Outlook and see what happens.

BTW If you are sending big files to you college email account there will DEFINITELY be a filesize limit and it WILL be small (10MB sounds generous!).
