Ok, so this is a Chinese movement stuck into a pretty shell by an unknown "watchmaker" and given a fancy name ...but my ...is it purdy or what?

heard the swiss were totally disregarding the chinese. but the concensus seems to be they are gonna be a force to be reckoned with in the coming years. so yeah, i would be tempted to grab a few pieces while they are still playing catch up.

I was eyeballing some Chinese watches myself on the fleabay. It seems the same movement, but looks nicer in my opinion, and the face as well:

There's a side by side comparison between the two movements:



His/hers prices are more friendly than the seller posted above and even has some affordable tourbillons if somebody is interested.

Same thing really, just slightly different pictures.
I still prefer MY chinese watch :D:D


Here is the same (and original !) movement in the actual (100% Chinese) Seagull Chronograph 1963 re-issue, which is a collectors item in itself.

Well, I should've said casebacks, not movements! :rolleyes:

Anyway, pricewise, MY chinese watch is better value as it sold for ~€153. You can't beat that!
