Just wondering about this. Is there a way to get the radio working without bringing it to the stealers? We don't have the manual.

Maybe its something to do with the radio code, do you have it?
Was the battery or radio disconnected or something?

Whole point of the code is so that if the radio was stolen it would be unusable. Not much point if the code is on it.

My Corsa C's radio was in safe after changing the battery but I had the radio manual and the code.

Dont know what you could do without the code

They will only usually have the code if it has ever been repaired before. They never come with the code on it from factory. If you can find your car pass, which is a little slip of paper that comes with the car from new, the code is on it. If not, if you PM me the reg I'll tell you what dealer the car was sold from and they will have it on their computer and will give it to you free of charge. If you cant find out, any opel dealer can provide you with the code for a charge of about €25. The dealer is charged this by opel, only the selling dealer can get it free.

Then when you get your code, turn the ignition on, dont start the car. Make sure the radio is turned off. Hold in the AS button and switch the radio on. Keep holding the AS button until it beeps. Then it should display 10 ----

This means you have 10 chances to put the code in, every time a wrong code is entered the number goes down and there is also a security wait time that starts from a few seconds but gets longer and longer every time.

When you have the 4 lines up, use button one to get the first digit up, button 2 for the second etc etc until you have the code on the screen, then hold in the AS button again until it beeps.

I find a lot of these cdr units take a huge force on the volume button to work, you press it normally thinking safe will turn to code---- but nothing happens,
Try a good hard press on it. (you still need the carpass tho)

If you have one with a faulty power button, if the radio is on, you can hold the AS button while turning the ignition on, and will have the same effect as turning it on.

I never said its on it. However plenty of people write them on the top or side of the radio. When was the last time you saw a stolen radio from a car? Probably years ago, its a thing of the past.
